Dangers of Contact Lists

First let me say I am completely reliant on my contact list. Outside of my sister and the house number of where I grew up.. I remember zero phone numbers.

Ok.. so my phone died.. and I was suppose to call Mike L. when I got out of work to let him know I'm on my way home. So I use someone elses phone b/c he said the had Mike's number.. it was given to him by my sister. So I call Mike and launch into "Hey, it's me my phone died but I'm leaving the zoo now." A bewildered person at the other end says "um, ok but do you have the right number?" Yeah wrong Mike, but I knew this Mike too so it was still pretty cool. I got to say hi before I hung up in total embarassament.

Hee hee.. sorry Mike. What surprised me so much was I didn't notice the difference in voices.. I guess I didn't give anyone much of a chance to talk though b/c I was kind of in a hurry. Anyway, thought it was an amusing story.

Guess that's the risk you run when you don't remember anyones phone number!

I am soo tired!! Work as been nuts.. long hours. But God bless the internet! I found the best community here in lj the other day. It's called park guests suck. It helps to know that others feel my pain!

I've been so out of touch with everyone.. I'm disappointed with myself. My best friend from college is getting married. I'm in the wedding and I've bearly spoken to her over the course of the past 4 mos or so. The wedding is in Aug. I haven't seen nor spoken to any of the anime peoples in I don't know how long. Emailing people for get it! My friends in Idaho, Montana and London have all but given up on me.

I am going to be famous tomorrow however! Heh hee.. well something like it anyway. Channel 12 tapes segements called Monday's Child in conjunction with Big Brothers Big sisters. Each week they focus on a child waiting for an older sibling. They chose to tape a segment at the zoo and guess who got to give them the tour. I hate being in front of cameras.. I'm sure I'm going to look like a total dork. It airs tomorrow.. eep!! I think I'll call in sick for the next week or so.

I spent the last couple days deer hunting at my dads.. yep, hunting. Everyone got a good laugh at me (with me..). My first day out a little buck walked under the tree stand it was in.. literally. I could have fallen on him.. he was maybe six yards away at the most... Yeah, I couldn't do it. He was so little! And he was scared.. he was panting with his tongue hanging out of his mouth like he had been running for awhile. Anyway, it wasn't because of some big "save the animal" thing that I just sat there.. it was actually quite exciting and I was shaking to much to take a decent shot.. stupid I know since I see them everyday and feed tigers and what not but to have a true wild animal walk that close to you is really cool!! I think I'll go out more but take my camera instead...

I've been hunting for a Great Dane puppy. Mike has wanted one for a while.. that or a Weinmaraner.. but I think a dane will do better indoors than a Weimie. They are sooo expensive though!!! Ro was only $60! I'm having a hard time justifying paying $500-$1200 dollars for a dog!!! Especially since it's just a pet.. we aren't breeding it or showing it or anything. I'm keeping a close eye on the humane societies and animal shelters.

Finally kicking this cold I caught, hopefully I didn't spread it around work. This is the first time I've been sick in a long time.. I can't really remember when I was sick last. Well, if I don't talk to you before then I hope you all have a great thanksgiving with the fams and I'll talk to you later!

Ok.. I just rented "Stay Alive". Horror movie based on gamers dying in real life when their characters die in the game.... Best part of the movie? The HUGE mural that covered the entire wall of an apartment. It was a picture from Steamboy..... aaahhhh.. want it!!!

Fun fun day.. wrestled Zebu, Alpacas, Donkeys, Mini horses.. sheep, goats, emu and one pig... and I feel it, ouch. But at least it wasn't boring! Work, sleep, more work, less sleep.. ya know.

Finally finished Fumoffu, so I'll bring it back next time I'm down (but remind me!!). While the guy is away the girl will play!! Or watch as much anime she can.. hee hee. Speaking of which, I have Thurs and Friday off next week (wink wink).

My apologies about not calling or hanging out in the past... oh half a year or so.. (eep). Yay!!

Oh! Radio music update.. b/c I know that you guys don't listen to the radio much, this song is great in my opinion.... (not sure if guys are gonna like it though..) Anyway I love it.. James Blunt-You're Beautiful and ever since I heard it I can't get these pics outta my head. It's begging for an AMV.. but the picture I have in my head is so clear.. I don't think it's possible w/ stock footage.. soooo.. I'm going to draw a storyboard! Well, I want to anyway.. who knows.. my attention span might be too short, but I'm gonna give it a shot.
Am I the only one who has this happen? Do other people hear a song and this whole scene plays out in their head for a music video? It happens pretty frequently to me.... which leads me tooo..

I saw this on an Amelie message aboard and though it was fun..

This is Laura,
Laura likes a fall breeze at night, seeing people happy (fangirl(boy)over things they love) and the smell of dog paws.

She dislikes:
Rude/mean/arrogant close minded people, the feel of sleeping in jeans and chewy circus peanuts.

Try it! It's kinda fun!
The more strange the better.. I tried to come up with more quirky stuff.. but it just wasn't coming to me..
I am soooo ready to trade both the boys in.. I figure they'd be worth about 10 cats for the two of them if I do an even lbs trade at the humane society.

This morning.. oh around 3:30am I'd guess.. I was woke up by the wonderful aroma of skunk. Yep... a skunk.. Rowan was diving under my bed and omg the smell!! I came downstairs to find my sis also was up from the smell and the front door was wide open. I gave both the dogs baths.. Elwood was covered in mud and burrs.(4am now...) We then realized the smell was in the house itself.. all we can figure is that the dogs found a skunk and walked through his scent and tracked it all through the house.... that or the skunk walked in our living room, sprayed and ran.. either way I spent the rest of the morning spraying Febreeze everywhere (for future reference it doesn't help...)rented a carpet cleaner and did that as well. Jam is going to be here in a hour or so... so hopefully I knocked the smell down enough we can sit through the movie. So anyway, just thought I'd share my wonderful morning adventure.. maybe it can make someone elses day not look so bad.. and I guess it is kinda funny.. if it wasn't my dog.

Once it goes past, you can't get it back.. and I'm just dinking around waiting for Jam to pick me up... late as usual, but he's still coming so that's good, dinner then off to see a movie. It's kinda weird.. I was in a poopy mood last night, and he called.. perfect timing on his part.. kudos.

Watched to much JDrama over the weekend... and decided I'm wanna cosplay the Daicon bunny girl. With the whole Densha Otoko opening I figure that some kids need a history lesson in Otakuism... but before I cosplay her, I need to find my running shoes! She'll be good motivation for me to get back in shape.. her and the other million cosplays I had pop in my head over the weekend! Ya know, I wish there was a job where you staged cosplays! There's just so many ideas that pop in my head, but the reality of doing them.. <lj:music>none.. it's 7:00am...</lj:music>

I had a good time last night. Jam came over and we cooked dinner, something he got off food network called Chicken Visuvius. It's chicken, potatoes, lots of spices.. yum.. it smokes when you pour white wine on it.. hence the Visuvius part.. anyway, it was good even with the mushrooms. Not much else going on.. I let him borrow Scott Pilgrim.. my evil plot to convert the world is one person closer to completion!

I've been training a horse for my sis and Orv. His name is Tango.. he's cute. He's just a grade horse and hasn't been worked with much. He doesn't have much steering and he is very VERY lazy so I have to push him for every step. Muscles hurt I forgot I had!.. but I won't need a thigh master that's for sure! Anyway, he's coming along well.. they want me to ride him in an auction the first weekend of Feb. I'm kinda nervous.. I don't want to screw it up and they lose money..

Um.. my boss is coming back today, so I'm sure she's gonna be upset I haven't made a webpage for the zoo yet. Oh well, too late now. There is just too much stuff for one person to do! Oh, if anyone has or knows of a used laptop I could get cheaply.. please let me know. My computer is about my only access to "civilization" if you can call it that.. and it has basically been taken over by my housemates for the birth of an ebay store/auctions. The only way I get time on it is typing at 7:00am.. ug.

Oh! One last thing.. I'm slowly making a decision on what I'm going to do.. I'm either going back to school to get certified to teach hs, or grad school to teach college. I think I'll like teaching.. I still have to figure out which route I'm gonna take, and then which college to go back to! Jam suggested EMU for teaching certification.. apparently they have a great education program.. better than UofM? He thinks so.. but he also hates UofM on a personal level... so.. I guess I'll have to do some research.

I've wanted to cut it off but I was afraid that I would look really bad.. plus every guy I knew said don't cut it.. then I figured that they can kiss my butt! I wanted to do it in stages, but then it wouldn't be any good to anyone.. this way I could send it to LOL so it will go to good use! I'm not sure if I like it yet.. but I'll save money on shampoo!! Plus it just felt good to do something I was afraid to do.. Yay me!

My boss left for another vacation.. she'll be gone for a week and a half! This is a good thing, I get to make my own hours! Whoo hooo! The bad thing is she left me to deal with some seriously pissed off employees (including myself....)

So, what do you do if a co-worker is taking advantage of the honor system and your boss? Here's the set up..

All the employees are now salary. How it works is you get paid 40hrs/week no matter how many hrs you work in a particular week as long as it evens out over the course of the year. It's totally based on the honor system, no punching clocks, etc. Anyway, while the rest of us were pulling 50-60hr weeks in the summer, one person was working 40. Now in the winter, she is working 20 while the rest of us are still working around 30. This is why we are angry. Our boss is extremely nice and sometimes unobservant, so she really doesn't know what is going on. Anyway, I feel like I'm going to be ill b/c the others have decided that I get to talk to the boss about it.. how does one broach the subject of a co-worker not pulling their weight without sounding like a whiner?! Ugg.. I'm not looking forward to this.. I HATE confrontation.

And now for something completely different... Scott Pilgrim is sooooo much fun!!!! Read it.. I'll loan it to you (with your right arm as collateral of course... hee hee...)

Got stood up... spent the first moments of 2006 crying in the middle of a club... not good. When I was a CENA, I worked with a girl who believed that whomever you kissed at midnight was the person you'd be with for that year, and if you were alone then that's how you were going to be for the year. I guess she would say I'm totally screwed.
